KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In an announcement today by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Olivia Galas has been named the NAIA National Setter of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' three wins last week, including a four-game upset over No. 4-ranked Viterbo University last Friday night. 

It marked the second time in her BU career that Galas has won the national honor from the NAIA. 

Galas averaged 11.42 assists and 1.83 digs per set in the three matches. In the upset over Viterbo, Galas produced 57 assists, three digs, and three kills. She served the final six points as the Bruins closed the match on a 7-0 scoring run. 

She recorded her 10th double-double of the season versus Waldorf, totaling 15 digs and 52 assists as she directed the Bruin offense to a .253 hitting percentage. 

Galas ranks 10th in the nation and first in the NSAA with 10.57 assists per game. She ranks 12th nationally with 814 total assists.  

The 15th-ranked Bruins (17-4, 5-1 NSAA) will host (RV) Dakota State University in a key NSAA match on Wednesday, Oct. 9, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. BU, DSU, and Viterbo are all currently tied for first in the conference standings with identical 5-1 league records.
