BU claims sweep at Peru State in non-conference tilt

PERU, Neb. -- Propelled by a season-high 13 service aces, the 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team swept Peru State College 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-10) Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup at the Al Wheeler Activity Center. 

The Bruins recorded their fourth-straight sweep, improving to 15-4 on the season. Peru fell to 5-17 overall. All 17 Bruins saw action in the victory. 

Junior outside hitter Andrea Carson led BU with nine kills on 15 errorless swings for a .600 hitting percentage. She added three digs and a pair of service aces in the win. 

Rosa Reed-Bouley collected five kills with no errors on six attacks. Coree Lipovsky added five kills on .625 hitting while adding two digs and a pair of blocks. 

Olivia Galas produced 28 assists while directing the BU offense to a .310 attack percentage. She also added three service aces and four digs. 

Sierra Athen (10) and Madi Evans (8) combined for 18 digs to anchor the Bruin defense which held the Bobcats to a .049 hitting percentage. 

Claire Cudney led PSC with 7 kills and 10 digs.  

The Bruins will return home on Friday, Oct. 4 when they host No. 6-ranked Viterbo University at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
