BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team recorded its third-straight sweep with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-14) victory over Valley City State University in North Star Athletic Association action Saturday afternoon at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. 

The Bruins improved to 14-4 on the season and 3-1 in the NSAA with the win. VCSU dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-4 in league play. Sixteen Bruins saw action in the win. 

Sierra Athen paced the BU offense with 13 kills on .500 hitting while adding a match-high 12 digs for her team-leading 10th double-double of the season. 

Payton Fehringer hit .600 on the day with six kills on 10 errorless swings while adding a pair of digs and two blocks. 

Olivia Galas (19) and Riley Burcham (17) combined for 36 assists as the two split setting duties throughout the match. The duo set the Bruins to a .351 attack percentage. 

Madi Evans (11) and Paige Holdsworth (10) joined Athen in double-figure dig totals as BU out-dug the Vikings, 53-38. The Bruin defense held VCSU to a .054 hitting clip.  

Taylor Sargent and Katie Juarez led the Vikings with six kills apiece. Charlotte Huschka anchored the VCSU defense with a match-high 15 digs. 

The Bruins will travel to Peru, Neb. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 for a 7 p.m. matchup against Peru State College.
