MADISON, S.D. -- For the seventh time in her career, sophomore Olivia Galas has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her performances last week in helping the Bruins' to a perfect 4-0 record at the season-opening Keiser University Tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Galas, who shared setting duties in two matches with freshman Riley Burcham, averaged 9.29 assists and 2.36 digs per set while adding six total blocks and three service aces in the four matches.
In the Bruins five-set victory over host Keiser in the tourney opener, Galas recorded a double-double with 37 assists and 16 digs, while adding five kills, two blocks, and a service ace.
Bellevue (4-0), ranked No. 22 nationally, will travel to Hastings, Neb. this Friday-Saturday, Aug. 23-24, for three matches against top-15 ranked teams in the Bill Marshall Classic hosted by Hastings College. The Bruins will open tourney play with a 1 p.m. match against No. 3-ranked Grand View University on Friday. BU will take on 14th-ranked Hastings College at 7 p.m. Friday. The Bruins will close the tournament on Saturday with a 10 a.m. matchup against No. 10-ranked Eastern Oregon University.
