BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Behind a balanced attack which saw five Bruins record at least eight kills, the No. 24 Bellevue University volleyball team swept Peru State College 3-0 on Wednesday evening in an intra-state non-conference match at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

Bellevue sprinted out to early leads of 10-3 in each of the first two sets before having to survive Peru State rallies that saw the Bobcats cut the first set to 22-21 and tie the second at 13-13.
Peru State flipped the script in the third, taking a 5-2 lead and leading as late as 10-9 before an 8-3 Bruin run put Bellevue ahead for good en route to claiming the match.
Olivia Galas netted her fourth double-double of the season finishing with 38 assists and 11 digs to go along with four kills on .400 hitting.
Andrea Carson led a Bellevue attack which hit .278 as a team with 10 kills. Coree Lipovsky (.467) and Shayla Scanlan (.286) each totaled nine kills while Sierra Athen (.158) and Rosa Reed-Bouley (.500) added eight kills apiece.
Athen led the BU defensive efforts with 12 digs and Madi Evans totaled 10 digs, her eighth match of the season hitting double-figures in digs.
Bellevue out-hit (.278-.235) and out-dug (46-31) Peru State but the Bobcats edged Bellevue in blocks (4-1).
Yorgelvis Jaspe (9 kills, .292 hitting), Nadja (7, .455), Cami Ruiz (6, .462), and Kira Shapiro (6, .261) paced the Bobcats .235 hitting night.
Dar Quinonez Holguin led three Peru State setters with 16 assists.
Defensively, PSC was led by Claire Cudney's 12 digs.

Bellevue hits the road for four matches at the Julie Martin Memorial Tournament in Livonia, Mich., hosted by Madonna University. The Bruins square off with Windsor (4 p.m.) and #20 Madonna (6 p.m.) on Friday before facing off with Rochester (9 a.m.) and Olivet Nazarene (1 p.m.) on Saturday.
