BELLEVUE, Neb. -- With an opportunity to keep alive hope of a first round NSAA Tournament bye the 23rd-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team was unable to pull out a needed victory, falling 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-23) to No. 19 University of Jamestown on Friday evening at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

Bellevue falls to 24-9 (10-4 NSAA) while Jamestown improves to 17-7 (10-2 NSAA) on the year, effectively wrapping up the No. 2 seed in the NSAA Tournament (Nov. 10-11).

Bellevue struggled to just a .099 hitting effort while Jamestown seeming couldn't miss, making just eight attack errors en route to a .301 hitting percentage for the match.

Mikaylah Gillespie and Andrea Carson both recorded a match-high 10 kills and Michaela Gardner added eight while Maddie Squiers led the BU offense with 34 assists. Taylor Holz led the Bruins with 19 digs.

Isabel Wedell led a balanced Jimmie attack with nine kills. Haley Glasoe added seven kills while Jessica Verlander and Madison Wendel each added six and Morgan Hensch contributed five.

Glasoe (9) and Wedell (7) combined for a total of 16 blocks as the Jimmies out-blocked Bellevue 13-5 on the night. Elise Peterson led Jamestown with 15 digs while Josie Beckman (16 assists) and Whitney King (13 assists) combined for 29 of 31 assists on the night.

Bellevue plays their final home matches tomorrow against College of the Ozarks (noon) and Dickinson State (3 p.m.). Senior Day ceremonies will take place at the conclusion of the Dickinson State match.
