MAYVILLE, N.D. -- Led by freshman Andrea Carson, the 23-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team swept Mayville State University 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-17) Saturday in North Star Athletic Association action at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. 

With the win, the Bruins improved to 24-7 overall and 10-3 in the NSAA. BU, which has won three-straight matches, is currently third in the latest NSAA standings. MSU dropped to 6-21 on the season and 2-7 in league play. 

Carson pounded nine kills on 14 errorless swings for a .643 hitting percentage. She also added eight digs and a service ace. Shayla Scanlan finished with nine kills and a pair of blocks. Hope Lambrecht produced seven kills and two blocks. Mikaylah Gillespie registered a match-high eight blocks in the sweep. 

Taylor Holz anchored the BU defense with 13 digs. 

Maddie Squiers directed the Bruin offense to a .225 hitting percentage, dishing out 33 assists while adding four service aces, six digs, two blocks and two kills. 

Hannah Bliss paced the Comet offense with nine kills and Mason Hart led the MSU defense with 13 digs. 

The Bruins travel to Sioux Center, Iowa on Tuesday, Oct. 24 for a 7 p.m. match at No. 6-ranked Dordt College.
