FOREST CITY, Iowa --  The 23rd-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team split a pair of conference matches Tuesday, falling 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-16) to second-ranked Viterbo University, before sweeping host Waldorf University, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-22) in North Star Athletic Association action at the Denny Jerome Court. 

Bellevue moved to 22-7 on the season and 8-3 in conference play.  

The Bruins will travel to Valley City, N.D. on Friday, Oct. 20 for a 7 p.m. conference match at Valley City State University. 

Viterbo 3, Bellevue 0

The second-ranked V-Hawks committed just four hitting errors, hitting a sizzling .578 on the night while cruising to the 3-0 sweep over the Bruins. 

Shayla Scanlan was the lone Bruin in double figures, finishing with 10 kills on .400 hitting. Cheyenne Mahnke led the BU defense with eight digs. Maddie Squiers directed the BU offense with 23 assists while adding three kills and three digs. 

VU was led by middles Maya Roberts and Natalie Geidel, who each pounded 14 kills and hit over .600 in the sweep. 

Bellevue 3, Waldorf 0

Six BU players produced at least five kills as BU rebounded with the 3-0 sweep over the host Warriors in the final match of the night. Michaela Gardner led the Bruin offense with nine kills while adding two digs. Emma Myers, who was replacing the injured Hope Lambrecht, finished with a career-high seven kills on 16 errorless swings while adding three blocks. Scanlan and Mikaylah Gillespie each finished with seven kills as well. 

Taylor Holz (11) and Fabiola Aviles (10) combined for 21 kills to anchor the BU defense, which held WU to .086 hitting on the night.

Squiers dished out 29 assists while adding five kills, four digs, two blocks and a service ace, as BU hit .263 in the win. 

Kyra Platzek led the Warriors with a match-high 15 kills
