LAKE WALES, Fla. -- The 19th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team earned a pair of victories in non-conference matches on Friday afternoon at Warner University's Turner Athletic Center. With the victories, BU has now won 14 of their last 15 matches overall and improves to 20-4 on the season.

The Bruins began the day by sweeping their way to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-19) win over St. Thomas University. The loss dropped St. Thomas to 6-9 on the season.

In their second game of the day Bellevue defeated Warner University 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-10). Warner fell to 3-9 with the loss.

Bellevue out-hit the Bobcats .250-.068 in the match, paced by Shayla Scanlan (12 kills, .579 hitting) and Rachel Wald (10 kills, .529 hitting) both swinging over .500 in the match.

Maddie Squiers racked up 35 set assists to go along with seven digs while Andrea Carson finished the match with eight kills and six digs. Taylor Holz led the Bellevue defense with eight digs on the afternoon.

Courtney White was the lone player for St. Thomas to reach double-figure kills, finishing with 10 on .412 hitting. Kimberly Martino totaled 26 assists and co-led the Bobcat defensive effort, along with Veronica Gomez, by compiling six digs.

The Bruins had a dominant outing as they easily topped Warner in three sets.

BU out-hit the Royals by a .310-.158 margin on the evening. They were led by Hope Lambrecht (9 kills, .750 hitting) and Shayla Scanlan (15 kills, .464 hitting) who combined to hit .550 on the night. Bellevue also got strong offensive efforts Andrea Carson (8 kills, .316 hitting), Michaela Gardner (4 kills, .333 hitting), and Mikaylah Gillespie (7 kills, .190 hitting).

Defensively, Maddie Squiers paced the Bruins with 12 digs to go along with 24 assists for yet another double-double. Lauren Colpitts chipped in with 11 digs of her own.

Breeanna Navarro tallied a 17-assist, 10-dig double-double to lead the host Royals in both of those categories. Alexandra Gonzalez just missed a double-double finishing with nine kills (.269 hitting) and nine digs. Ivelisse Saint-Clair hit a team-high .357 for Warner with seven kills on 14 swings.
