BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Mikaylah Gillespie pounded 12 kills on 21 errorless swings and added a match-high six blocks to lead the 20th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-22) sweep over intra-state rival Peru State College Saturday afternoon in the Premier Labor Day Classic at the Lied Activity Center. 

The Bruins won their fifth-straight match, improving to 7-2 on the season. The Bobcats fell to 2-3 overall in 2017. 

Gillespie hit at a .571 clip as the Bruins outhit PSC .300 to .218. 

Defensively, the Bruins were led by Cheyenne Mahnke (12) and Taylor Holz (11), who combined for 23 digs in the win. 

Maddie Squiers dished out 36 assists while adding five kills and six digs. 

Kira Shapiro (11) and Alex Bowman (10) combined for 21 kills to lead the Bobcat offense. 

Cristina Viera collected a match-high 21 digs and four service aces for PSC.  

The Bruins conclude the tournament with a 7 p.m. match tonight against Morningside College.
