BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 21st-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team recorded a pair of wins over Central Christian College Friday night as the Bruins opened conference play at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. The Bruins took the first match, 3-0 (25-7, 25-12, 25-10) and also swept the nightcap 3-0 (25-7, 25-11, 25-11).

Bellevue improved to 8-3 on the season and 2-0 in the MCAC. Central Christian fell to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in league play.

Freshman Annie Benson led the Bruins with seven kills while freshman Kirstine Linebaugh had a career-high seven service aces, all in game one. Junior Katie Kuntz collected five kills on five swings, while adding a block.

Senior Kylie Davis, who saw her first action of the season, recorded 14 assists, six services and two digs in the win.

The Bruins hit .297 in the match and had a season-high 20 service aces while limiting the Tigers to a -.122 attack percentage.

Match 2
Kuntz led the Bruins in the second match with five kills on .400 hitting. Junior Maureen Wardian added four kills on .571 hitting.

Bellevue continued to serve tough with 17 service aces and just four errors.

The Bruin defense was anchored by Linebaugh's eight digs. She also added four service aces in the victory.

Bellevue has now swept four-straight opponents.
