BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Three different players scored goals to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a victory over the University of Jamestown, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in a North Star Athletic Association match at Bellevue Soccer Club.

Bellevue improves to 8-4-1 with the victory and 2-0-0 in NSAA play. Jamestown falls to 7-5-0 overall in dropping their conference-opener to begin the league season 0-1-0.

The Bruins jumped out to a 3-0 lead by halftime and effectively maintained possession in the second half, limiting the Jimmies to minimal scoring opportunities throughout.

Reyvin Hernandez put the Bruins on the board in the 13th minute with her second goal of the season. Following a failed clear by keeper Lauren Sayler and sent in a shot from beyond 25 yards out that hit off the crossbar before bouncing off the keeper's head and into the net.

Bellevue doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Lauren Clark scored her second goal of the season. Jordyn Seidel flicked a ball on to Clark who one-timed the bouncing ball over the head of the keeper.

Shortly thereafter, in the 31st minute, Madison Lambert put BU ahead by a score of 3-0. After her initial shot was saved by Sayler, she followed up her own attempt and found room at the near side for her fifth goal of the year.

BU owned a substantial 21-9 advantage in shots, an 11-3 edge in shots on goal, and Jamestown out-gained the Bruins on corner kicks, 6-4. Laurence Rodier made three saves in goal for Bellevue while Sayler stopped eight shots for Jamestown.

The Bruins return to play on Sunday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Aberdeen, S.D. for a noon kickoff against Presentation College.
