BU runs away with title at Battle at the Dance

WINDSOR, Colo. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team ran away with the title at the five-team Battle at the Dance being played at the 5,937-yard, par-72 Raindance National Golf Club. 

The Bruins finished the tournament at 65-over par with team scores of 331 and 310, outdistancing second-place Dakota Wesleyan University by 64 strokes. The 310 total in today's second round was BU's top round of the 2023-24 season.

Maria Pinedo shot an even-par 72 and was the top NAIA golfer in the 36-player event, finishing the tournament at 9-over par. Her consistent round was made up of two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars, putting her alone in fourth place.  

Chloe Blandinieres fired a 4-over 76 and finished the tournament in 11th place at 24-over par for the 36 holes. She had 14 pars and four bogeys in the second round.

Aaricia Noel-Traissac carded an 8-over 80 to go with Tuesday's 4-over 76. Her 12-over total put her in sixth place. She had three birdies and seven pars on the day.

Megan Harty registered a 10-over 82, finishing the tournament in a tie for 12th place at 27-over par. She had one birdie and nine pars in her round.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bruins was Ilysia Ibnu, who finished with a 14-over 86, tying Harty for 12th place at 27-over par for the tournament. She had one birdie and five pars on the day.

Colorado State's Sofia Torres won the individual race, finishing at 4-under par, one stroke ahead of teammate Lacey Uchida.

The Bruins will travel to Broken Arrow, Okla., on Mar. 25-26 to compete in the Kyle Blaser Invitational, which will be played at the Golf Club of Oklahoma.
