Bruins finish seventh at Susie Maxwell Berning Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team, led by senior Allison Temple, finished in seventh place Tuesday at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic. The 18-team tournament was played at the 5,843-yard, par-70 Lincoln Park Golf Club (East Course). 

The Bruins bettered their first-round team score by six strokes finishing with a team total of 306 for a 36-hole total of 618 (312-306). 

Host Oklahoma City University squeaked past Redlands CC for the team title with a 599 (300-299) total. Redlands finished one stroke back at 600 (310-290). Only seven strokes separated the top five teams. 

Temple recorded the Bruins' top round of the tournament, finishing with a 1-over 71. She was 9-over for the tournament which put her in 11th place in the 97-player field. Temple's round was sparked by three birdies and 11 pars. 

Dominika Gradecka also recorded three birdies on the day, carding a 6-over score of 76 and a two-round sum of 15-over 155. She finished in a tie for 22nd place. 

Tylah Saifoloi equaled her first-round score of 78, finishing in a tie for 27th overall at 16 over par. Her round was also highlighted by three birdies. 

Shanice DeGee was the final BU scorer, firing an 11-over 81 for a 158 (77-81) total, good for a tie for 38th place. She had nine pars on the day. 

The Bruins will next compete at the North Star Athletic Association Championship on April 26-27 in Onalaska, Wis. The tournament will be played at the Cedar Creek Golf Club.
