LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team had four golfers finish the day in the top five as the Bruins took a commanding 22-stroke lead after the opening round of the six-team Ottawa University Fall Invitational being played at the par-72 Eagle Bend Golf Course.

The Bruins, who shot a team score of 31-over 319, leads second-place Kansas Wesleyan, who recorded a team score of 341 in the first round. 

Faustina Peve is the tournament leader after firing a 5-over par 77 in Tuesday's opening round. Kim Moore is two strokes back at 7-over and is tied for second place. Allison Temple carded an 8-over 80 and is in fourth place in the 37-player field. 

Madison Brooks is tied for fifth place after recording an 11-over 83. Bri Stagge is tied for 15th place after registering a score of 90 on the day. 

Wednesday's final round will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
