Bruins place second at Morningside Invitational

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Led by Allison Temple's fourth place finish the Bellevue University women's golf team placed second in the 10-team field at the Morningside Invitational played at the par-71 Whispering Creek Golf Course.

Temple carded a 79 (+8) on the day, six shots off the pace of individual champion Arianna Presilla (73, +2) of Briar Cliff.

Bellevue recorded a team score of 331 (+47) on the day to finish 10 shots off the pace of team champion Morningside (321, +37). Northwestern (334, +50), Briar Cliff (337, +53), and Mount Marty (354, +70) rounded out the top five.

Madison Brooks narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish after firing an 83 (+12) to finish in a three-way tie for 11th place in the 60-golfer field.

Faustina Peve (84, +13) and Kim Moore (85, +14) finished in a tie for 14th and 18th, respectively. Morgan Hazzard (87, +16) rounded out the BU team scorers with a tie for 22nd place.

Bri Stagge (96, +25) and Autumn Fataley (106, +35) golfed as individuals in the Bruins' first tournament of the fall.

Bellevue returns to the links on Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 11-12 when they travel to Lawrence, Kan. to compete at the Ottawa Invitational. The tournament will be held at Eagle Bend Golf Course.
