BU finishes second; Peve claims title at ONU Fall Invite

ST. ANNE, Ill. -- Paced the Faustina Peve's individual title, the Bellevue University women's golf team finished in second place in the season-opening Olivet Nazarene Invite hosted at the par-72, 5,943-yard Elks Country Club. 

William Penn University claimed the team championship with a 655 (329-326) two-day team total. Bellevue finished six strokes back with a 661 (321-340) total. 

Peve finished 11-over par after shooting 77 on the day, to go along with Friday's 6-over 78. She tied WPU's Megan Rhoads and won the title in a sudden death playoff hole, sinking a four-foot putt for par. 

Madison Brooks tied for fourth place with a 165 (79-86) 36-hole total. 

Kim Moore finished in 15th place after carding a 90 on the day and 170 (80-90) for the tournament. 

Morgan Hazzard tied for 16th with a 171 (84-87) total. Allison Temple recorded a two-round total of 182 (89-93), putting her in a tie for 16th place in the 46-player field. 

The Bruins travel to St. Paul, Minn. on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 17-18 to compete in the Golden Bear Classic host by Concordia-St. Paul.
