Bruins in 25th as rain halts play again at Nationals

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --  The Bellevue University women's golf team improved its opening-round team score by five strokes and stands in 25th place after 36 holes of the rain-plagued NAIA Women's Golf National Championships being played at the par-72, 6,013-yard PGA National - Squire Course. 

All 15 of the teams that teed off in the afternoon, however, were unable to complete their round due to rain. 

The Bruins shot a team score of 345 in the second round after wrapping up the opening round with a team score of 350. After rain interrupted play on Tuesday, the Bruins concluded the first round early Wednesday before completing the second round later in the morning. 

First-round leader Oklahoma City, who was unable to finish their second round due to the weather delay and will continue play at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.  The Stars currently lead USC Beaufort (S.C.) by nine strokes.  Both teams have completed four-to-seven holes each.

Sitting in third-place is William Carey (Miss.) with a first-round score of 317 (+29) and is currently through seven-to-nine holes of its second round before the weather arrived at PGA National. The Crusaders sit 24 strokes out of the lead.

Courtney Dye of Indiana Tech maintains her lead of the 161-golfer field after play of the second-round was suspended.  Dye was currently one-over par through four holes on the day. Following Dye are Anna Mikish and Savannah Moody of Oklahoma City, who are tied for second after play was suspended. Mikish is currently two-over on the round, while Moody sits at even-par.

Ivane Helias improved her first-round score by four strokes and is currently tied for 105th place with a 36-hole sum of 170 (87-83). 

Bri Stagge matched her first-round total of 92 and is tied for 150th place with a 184 (92-92) total. 

Morgan Hazzard is tied for 158th place with a 191 two-round total (100-91). 

The top 17 teams and the top 40 individuals after tomorrow's third round make the cut for Friday's final round.
