Bruins record two top-5 finishes at Doane Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team had two players finish in the top five Tuesday at the Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invite being played at the par-72 Wilderness Ridge Golf Club. Three Bruins competed as individuals in the seven-team event which fielded 51 individuals. 

Faustina Peve tied for second place with a 6-over-par 78. Just behind her was Morgan Hazzard at 7-over-par 79, which put her in a tie fourth place. The third Bruin, Bri Stagge finished in a tie for 30th-place after recording a 100 on the day. 

Iowa Western Community College's Cassidy Evreniadis captured the individual title with a 5-over 77. The Reivers also earned the team championship.

Next on the docket for the Bruins are the final two rounds of the North Star Athletic Association Tournament to be played on Tuesday-Wednesday, April 25-26 in Wisconsin. Bellevue holds a 25-stroke lead in the event with the top finishing team earning an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla.
