OGLESBY, Ill. -- Freshman Wendy Monfort shot a 75 to push her way into a third place finish overall and pace the Bellevue University women's golf team to a second place finish at the Deer Park Classic.

All four Bruin golfers placed in the top 25 individually in the 77-player field. In additional to Monfort, seniors Maria Saavedra, Karissa Moreland, and Natalia Soria all shot 81 or better on the day. Saavedra tied for fifth, Moreland tied for 13th, and Soria tied for 25th overall.

No. 17 Campbellsville won the team title with a score of 630, finishing six strokes ahead of the seventh-ranked Bruins. Bellevue entered the day trailing Cardinal Stritch by eight strokes but edged them by one stroke for second place. No. 12 William Penn and 24th-ranked Marian were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Bellevue returns to the links on Monday, Sept. 28 to compete in the two-day North Star Fall Tournament which is being held in Oxbow, N.D.
