OMAHA, Neb. -- Led by Renee Santoyo and Maria Saavedra, the Bellevue University women's golf team placed fourth in the 12-team Creighton Classic being played at Oak Hills Country Club.
The tournament featured nine NCAA Division I teams, two Division II teams, and Bellevue. The Bruins shot a 36-hole total of 658 (326-332). North Dakota State won the team title with a score of 625 (315-310).
Santoyo finished in fifth place with a two-day total of 156 (78-78). Saavedra, who had a hole-in-one in Monday's first round, placed sixth with a 158 (76-82). Natalia Soria tied for 20th with a two-round total of 165 (82-83). Christina VonRiesen shot a 179 (90-89), which tied for 56th.
North Dakota State's Amy Anderson was the tournament medalist, finishing at 2-over par with a 146 (74-72).
The Bruins will host the MCAC Championships on Monday-Tuesday, April 29-30, at the Eagle Hills Golf Course.
