Hastings, Neb. -- Unable to overcome a 53.2 percent shooting effort by the host Broncos the (RV) Bellevue University women's basketball team suffered a 91-67 defeat at the hands of #13 Hastings College on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at Lynn Farrell Arena.

Hastings got off to a 12-point lead after a quarter of play and out-scored BU in each period as the GPAC side claimed a non-conference victory over the Bruins.
Bellevue traded haymakers and had an early lead to show for their efforts. A bucket from Shanae Collins put the Bruins ahead 16-14 but a 15-1 spurt by the home side over the final 3:04 saw Hastings take a 29-17 lead after one quarter of play.
The Broncos stretched their lead to 53-35 at half. After BU cut the lead to 11 points with 3:24 to go, Hastings closed the half on a 13-4 run.
Bellevue trailed 72-50 after three while the fourth was the tightest quarter of the game with Hastings holding just a 19-17 edge in the scoring column.
Shandra Farmer poured in a game-high 20 to lead the Broncos while Emma Grenfell dropped 18 and Mackenzie Williams added 11. Kaitlyn Schmit and Kennedy Sander each contributed eight points in supporting roles.
Morgan Cuffe totaled 14 points to lead the Bruins who shot just 35.4 percent from the floor on the evening. She was joined in double figures by Elexis Martinez with 11 to go along with a team-best seven rebounds, and Shanae Collins who tossed in 10.
The Bruins also got nine points from Faith Ross before she fouled out.
The game featured a total of 50 turnovers with Bellevue committing two fewer than the Broncos on the evening.
Hastings edge Bellevue in rebounding (35-32) and points in the paint (44-30) while the Bruins held and advantage in points off turnovers (21-18). Both second chance points (6-6) and bench points (26-26) finished in a stalemate.
