BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- For the first time in the 65-game history of the (RV) Bellevue University women's basketball team the Bruins scored in triple digits as BU rolled past Central Christian College of the Bible 123-39 at the Mueller Sports Center on Saturday afternoon in the OKWU Classic.

Elexis Martinez led six Bruins in double figures with a game-high 22 points as BU continued to roll on their opening weekend.

Bellevue made eight of their first 10 three-point attempts in the game's first 15 minutes en route to shooting 50 percent (15-30) from deep for the game.

The Bruins opened the game on a 17-3 run, capped by a three-pointer from Miranda Hennings, before the Saints took their first timeout at the 5:27 mark of the first quarter.

The BU lead ballooned to 22 points, 30-8, by the end of the first quarter. Martinez (8) and Morgan Cuffe (6) combined for 14 points in the quarter to lead the way.

After out-scoring the Saints, 37-11 in the second quarter, Bellevue carried a 67-19 lead into the halftime break. Cuffe led the way with 12 points at the half. Lexi Allen and Faith Ross each dropped in nine.

BU out-shot CCCB 65.8-28.0 percent in the opening half and forced the Saints into 15 turnovers while committing just six of their own.

Bellevue out-scored the Saints 26-9 in the third quarter to push their lead to 93-28 heading into the final period.

Nine Bruins scored at least eight points in the game. Martinez (22), Allen (17), Cuffe (14), Hennings (12), Laura Jurek (12), and Angeliece Tucker (11) all scored in double figures while Taeha Pankey and Ross both poured in nine and Sierra Roseby added eight.

Hennings led the Bruin rebounding effort with five boards. Pankey, Martinez, Jurek, Cuffe, and Tucker each added four for BU who out-rebounded the Saints by a 42-26 margin.

The game was counted as an exhibition for Central Christian Bible.

The Bruins host College of Saint Mary on Monday, Oct. 29 in their home-opener at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
