KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Bellevue University softball team ended its 14-game Florida trip with a split Saturday in BU's final games of the Spring Games. The Bruins fell to 22nd-ranked Saint Xavier, 7-0, before rebounding with an 11-1 victory over Saint Ambrose in the team's finale. 

With the split, the Bruins moved to 10-8 on the season.  

The Bruins return to action next weekend when they travel to McPherson, Kan. to participate in the McPherson College Tournament on March 13-14. 

St. Xavier 7, Bellevue 0

The Cougars used two big innings and the pitching duo of Allison Golic and Jacky Holloway allowed just four singles and a double as SXU collected the 7-0 shutout in BU's opening game of the day. 

The Bruins were victims of three fielding errors in the loss.  

The Cougars scored three runs on four hits in the bottom of the second, highlighted by Tori Williams' RBI single to right field, a sacrifice fly to center field by Nicole O'Donnell, and a run-scoring single to right field by Morgan Haefling. 

SXU extended the lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the third, sparked by a two-run double to left field by O'Donnell and on an RBI single to right field by Lexxie Lux. 

The Cougars did not allow a hit in the final two innings as SXU handed BU its second-straight shutout loss. 

Lauren Jurek (3-1) suffered the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits with one walk and two strikeouts in six innings of work. 

Golic (4-0) earned the victory, scattering five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts in six innings in the circle. 

Bellevue 11, St. Ambrose 1 (5 innings)

Bellevue tied a season-high with 11 runs, scoring in each of the first four innings, en route to the 11-1 victory in five innings in the nightcap. 

Three Bruins drove in multiple runs in the victory as BU outhit the Fighting Bees, 12-4. 

Allison O'Driscoll went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Katlyn Kinman finished 2-for-3 with a home run while driving in a pair of runs. Maricela Egan and Madison Machacek both had multiple hits as well in the win.  

The Bruins took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, scoring off two SAU throwing errors and on an RBI single to left field by Madison Machacek

A two-run homer to left field by Kinman increased the lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second. 

The Bruins made it 8-0 in the bottom of the third, sparked by a two-run dinger to left field by O'Driscoll.

The Fighting Bees got on the board in the top of the fourth, scoring on a fielding error by BU centerfielder Mya Montero, cutting the deficit to 8-1.  

A two-run double to center field by Egan and an RBI single to center by O'Driscoll pushed the BU advantage to 11-1 in the bottom of the fourth frame. 

Cory Carrillo improved to 5-1 on the season, allowing just four hits and no walks, while striking out six batters in five innings of work.
