CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Bellevue University softball team was defeated by Trinity Christian College, 4-3, Friday morning in their final game at THE Spring Games.

Bellevue wraps up their trek to the Sunshine State with a 7-5 record and are now 7-10 overall on the season. The win moves Trinity Christian to 2-7 on the campaign.

The Trolls opened the scoring with a pair of unearned runs in the first. Chloe McRobbie's single brought home Adrianna Puente who opened the inning by reaching on an error. One batter later Tori Grzincic brought home Katelyn Sena on a run-scoring groundout.

After a pair of scoreless innings the Bruins cut the Trinity Christian lead in half. Emily Miller reached via error, advanced to second when Emily Gigax was hit by a pitch, and came in to score on Sayde Woten's RBI-single. A sac bunt by Kaitlyn Goney put runners at second and third with two out and BU threatening but pinch hitter Kayla Young grounded out to end the inning.

Another scoreless inning and a half brought the Bruins to bat in the sixth, trailing by just a run. Back-to-back singled by Miller and Erin Sharpe put two runners on with no outs to lead off the inning. However, pinch runner Sydney Robertson was thrown out trying to steal third, and it looked as the Bruins may waste their chance. Later in her at-bat Gigax came through with a two-run home run over the left field fence to put BU up 3-2 with her third home run of the season.

TCC struck back with two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the walk-off win. Sena reached on a fielding error to bring in Jamie Budreau with the first run of the inning, tying the game. Melinda Russell followed with a single to right to score Emily Phillips with the game-winner.

It was the first game the Bruins have lost this season after carrying a lead past through six innings.

Kelli Fisher (5-6, 1.55) went the distance for the Bruins. She allowed four unearned runs on four hits. She struck out three and issued one walk. In not allowing an earned run Fisher ran her streak to 28.1 innings without surrendering an earned run.

Puente (1-1) picked up the win in the circle for TCC, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and walking one while striking out four.

Bellevue is off until Tuesday, Mar. 15 when they travel to Leavenworth, Kan. for a double-header against the University of Saint Mary (7-13). First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
