LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University senior Taariq Ganga (Cape Town, South Africa) has been selected as the Continental Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week in men's soccer, as announced by the CAC on Monday morning.
Ganga totaled 10 saves across a pair of road draws last week, including a season-high six in a 1-1 deadlock at Oklahoma City University last Thursday. He followed that performance up with four saves in his second shutout of the season at University of Science & Arts on Saturday.
For the season, Ganga has totaled 21 saves for an .808 save percentage to go along with a 0.65 goals against average.
Bellevue returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 25 when they travel to Atchison, Kan. for a Top 25 encounter with #24 Benedictine College at 7:30 p.m.
