MCPHERSON, Kan. -- Toby Millward's penalty kick goal was the only strike that found the back of the net for the No. 13 Bellevue University soccer team in a 1-1 double-overtime draw at McPherson College on Saturday afternoon.

Bellevue remains unbeaten in their last 10 games (7-0-3) as their record moves to 11-4-2 on the year while McPherson is now 8-3-4.

McPherson scored first midway through the first half to take a 1-0 advantage.

That lead did not hold up long as just 42 seconds later Bellevue won a penalty that Toby Millward converted to bring the Bruins back on terms.

Despite out-shooting McPherson 8-2 in the half, the Bruins were unable to find a second goal and the teams went into the break level at 1-1.

The second half again saw Bellevue hold a dominating edge in shots (7-2) as the Bruins finished with a 19-8 advantage overall and 7-4 edge in attempts on target.

AJ Jarvis recorded three saves for BU. Jose Alonso and Colby Swift had three stops each for the Bulldogs with Swift coming on as a replacement at the half.

Both teams had three shots apiece in the first overtime. Bellevue came closest to scoring when Gabriel Gaiotto 94th minute strike clanged off the crossbar.

Attempts were scarce in the second extra period with Oumar Sissoko accounting for BU's lone attempt, saved by Swift, in the 104th minute. Nhlakanipho Methula's effort in the 107th minute, the final shot of the game, was turned away by Jarvis as the teams walked off with a 1-1 draw.

Man of the Match:

Andy Wilkinson

Coach Mark Heath-Preston:

"Always a difficult game at McPherson. We scored from a penalty but probably should have had three or four more penalties. We hit the bar twice but sometimes it dismay happen. Andy Wilkinson had his best game and had to keep us in it. He showed great leadership towards the end when we were up against it. Waldorf on Wednesday was a little harder on the legs than we expected so we will learn and take the draw. Our final game of the regular season is against Midland next weekend so we have a week to recover and prepare."

Bellevue closes out the regular season on Saturday, Mar. 27 when they host Midland University (3-7-1) at 5 p.m. from Papillion Landing.
