Bruins continue National Tournament run against Madonna

IRVINE, Calif. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team, following a 3-0 victory last weekend in the Opening Round, is preparing for its second round match in the NAIA National Tournament against Madonna University.

The 10th-seeded Bruins (18-1-2) kick-off with the Crusaders (17-4-0), 1-0 upset winners over 7th-seeded Lindsey Wilson in the Opening Round, on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. local time (3:30 p.m. Central).

Bellevue and Madonna have met twice before – both meetings coming in California – with each side having won once.

Most recently BU picked up a 2-1 overtime at the Point Loma Nazarene Classic on Sept. 1, 2008. Bruin head coach Mark Heath-Preston assisted Casey Friend's 106th minute game-winner.

Madonna won the first-ever meeting by a 2-1 scoreline back on Sept. 4, 2006. Bellevue assistant coach Tom White assisted on the Bruins' goal.

BU is at the NAIA National Tournament Final Site for the fourth time in program history, and the first time under third-year head coach Mark Heath-Preston.
