OMAHA, Neb. -- Jamestown's Ellis Riley scored off a pass from Jade Johnson with just over five minutes remaining in the contest to give the Jimmies a 1-0 win over Bellevue in the season opener for both teams Wednesday night at Tranquility Park.
Senior David Lastra collected a game-high four shots, including two on goal.
Luke Baxter recorded four saves in the loss, including a dramatic stop off a Jamestown penalty kick with just over 13 minutes left in the game.
Thomas Cooke recorded the win, notching four saves.
Jamestown outshot the Bruins 10-9, while both teams had four shots on goal.
The Bruins (0-1) travel across town on Sunday, Aug. 26 for a 5 p.m. match at NCAA Division I Nebraska-Omaha.
