BU makes cut, tied for 15th after second round

MESA, Ariz. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team, led by Hugo Ronnberg, is currently in a tie for 15th place after the second round of play at the 2023 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships being played at the 7,004-yard, par-72 Las Sendas Golf Club. 

The Bruins shot a team score of 19-over par 307 and are 28-over par for the tournament. Keiser University leads the 29-team field at 2-under par with rounds of 282 and 292. The University of British Columbia is four strokes back at 2-over par (292-286). 

Ronnberg was under par for his round for the second-straight day, finishing the day with a 2-under par 70. He is currently in a tie for third place at 3-under par. Ronnberg's round was highlighted by an eagle on the par 5, 593-yard 15th hole. He also had four birdies and nine pars in his round. 

Rodrigo Navarrete equaled his opening-round score of 77, putting him at 10-over for the tournament and in a tie for 85th place. Three birdies and seven pars sparked his round. Navarrete had an even-par 36 on the back nine. 

Floris-Jan Oosterhof is tied for 68th place after carding a 7-over 79 to go with his opening round score of 74, putting him at 9-over for the tournament. Oosterhof finished the back nine with a 1-over 37. 

Alex Zillig is tied for 97th place after shooting a 9-over 81 on Wednesday. He is 12-over for the tournament. Zillig recorded two birdies in his round. 

Totte Uhlan rounded out the day for the Bruins after registering a 13-over 85.  

The University of Victoria's Robin Conlan leads the 149-player field at 5-under par. Conlan shot a 1-under 71 to go with Tuesday's 4-under 68. 

Thursday's third round will begin at 9:00 a.m. (PST).
