KOHLER, Wis. -- Led by Diego Gudino's opening-round score of 6-over par 78, the Bellevue University men's golf team is currently in 12th place at the 19-team Kohler Collegiate Classic being played at the Whistling Straits Golf Course.
The Bruins shot a team score of 334 on the day and trail first-place Taylor University by 27 strokes.
Gudino is currently tied for 12th in the 96-person field and is just three strokes off the pace of tournament leaders Mitch Lamping of Taylor, Garrett Giesselmann of Midland, and Brandon Barrows of Mott Community College.
The second and final round begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
