Jack Nelson

Jack Nelson enters his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Bellevue University in 2011-12. He will assist in all phases of the program including recruiting and on-the-floor training as well as serve as an academic advisor.

Prior to joining coach Paben's staff, he spent three seasons at the University of Sioux Falls where he helped lead the Cougars to a record of 69-35 with two Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament titles as well as three appearances in the NAIA National Tournament.

Nelson began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn.

Nelson played his first two years of college basketball at Black Hawk East Community College in Kewanee, Ill., from 2002-2004 before playing his final two seasons at SMU.

A native of Dillon, Colo., Nelson earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from SMU and completed his master's from Winona State University.
