SEWARD, Neb. -- Ten different players scored as Bellevue University basketball team defeated York College, 86-56, on Saturday evening in the second game of the Cattle Classic.

Bellevue raced to a 25-point lead, 45-20, by intermission and cruised in the second half on their way to their biggest margin of the season.

The Bruins turned to their balanced attack with six players scoring at least nine points on the evening. TeShon Burton led the way with 15 while Mike Cardenas added 14. Wes Burke and Jerred Cook joined them in double figures with 10 apiece and Chris Burton and Carl Robinson each added nine on the night.

Nicolus Guzman pulled down a game-best and career-high nine rebounds for the Bruins who held a 54-35 edge on the glass.

Marquis Aaron was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 10.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 block in two games.

The Bruins hit on 42 percent (29-of-69) of their attempts from the field. They struggled from distance, hitting 11-of-37 attempts (29.7 percent) but made up for it by being nearly automatic at the charity stripe hitting on 17-of-21 tries (81 percent).

Bellevue collected 15 offensive rebounds, led by Guzman's five and Aaron's four which led to 15 second chance points. The Bruins held a narrow 30-28 edge in points in the paint and scored 16 points off 13 York turnovers.

Johnny Cooksey led the Panthers with 12 points while Cameron Coleman chipped in nine. Darreon Tolliver was the high rebounder for York, pulling down seven boards to go along with his four points.

The 8th-ranked Bruins (3-1) return to the hardwood on Tuesday, Nov. 10 for their home-opener against Nebraska Wesleyan University at 7 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
