BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 23rd-ranked Hastings College Broncos posted a 69-64 win against the Bellevue University men's basketball team Tuesday night in the Bruins' home-opener in nonconference action at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

With the win, Hastings improved to 2-0 while Bellevue suffered its first loss of the season and fell to 2-1.

Given Kalipinde recorded 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. He also made six of his nine shot attempts. 

Michael Dotson and Lee Ames both scored nine points while Taylor Young registered eight points and six assists.

Trailing 6-2, the Broncos used a 15-2 run to take a 17-8 lead midway through the first half. BU responded and outscored HC 17-11 to pull within three, 28-25, but the Broncos ended the period on a 17-8 spurt to take a 45-33 lead at halftime.

HC led by as many as 19 points in the second half before the Bruins went on a 29-15 run to get within five (67-62) with just over one minute remaining, but that's the closest BU got as the Broncos posted the 69-64 win. 

The Broncos were led by Brady Lollman's game-high 23 points and eight rebounds.

BU will travel to Mitchell, S.D. on Nov. 8-9 for the Dakota Wesleyan Classic.
