Bruins sign LHP Jordan to LOI

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University baseball coach Duane Monlux announced today the signing of Ty Jordan (Roswell, N.M./Otero JC) to a National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball and academic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall.

Jordan comes to BU from Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colo. where he pitched for the Rattlers for two seasons. This past season he appeared in 14 games – 12 starts – and logged a 2-8 record to go along with a 4.93 ERA and averaged 9.49 strikeouts per nine innings. Opponents hit .278 off him over 49.1 innings.

Coach Monlux on Jordan:

"We are really excited about signing Ty. He had a very rough freshman season and bounced back and pitched very well as a sophomore. The improvements he made from his freshman to sophomore season were pretty impressive. We are looking for him to keep improving once he gets to Bellevue. We feel his best days are still ahead of him and expect a lot of quality innings from Ty next spring."

Jordan joins earlier signees Andrew Ishii (Salem, Ore./Chemeketa CC), Josh Vaughan (Boise, Idaho/College of the Siskiyous), Charlie Patterson (Eugene, Ore./Lane CC), Josh Jespersen (Fremont, Calif./Canada College), and McGrane Pledger (Walnut Creek, Calif./Laney College) in the Bruins' 2019 recruiting class.

Bellevue concluded the 2019 season with a 48-16 overall record and 23-1 mark in NSAA play. The Bruins closed the year by winning 41 of their final 44 games en route to earning the program's 14th Avista NAIA World Series Appearance. BU claimed both the NSAA Regular-Season and Tournament titles before going on to win the NAIA Opening Round – Shreveport Bracket.
