Charlie Patterson (Eugene, Ore./Lane CC) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Bellevue.

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University baseball coach Duane Monlux announced today the signing of Charlie Patterson (Eugene, Ore./Lane CC) to a National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball and academic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall.

Patterson comes to BU from Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore. After a steady freshman campaign, Patterson was First Team All-NWAC South Region selection as a sophomore in 2019. He turned in a 4.12 ERA across 39.1 innings on the year as he split time between the rotation an bullpen on his way to a 3-2 record.

He made 23 career appearances for Lane CC that included 11 starts. He posted a 5-7 record and put up a nearly 3:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. As a sophomore, he registed just under a strikeout per inning, finishing with 35 - against just eight walks - in 39.1 frames.

Coach Monlux on Patterson:

"Charlie is a guy that we are very excited about. He threw significant innings for Lane CC the past two seasons. He had a very solid sophomore season, earning first team all-region honors. He will be expected to step in and give us quality innings this spring. He is a strike thrower that has the ability to strike people out."

Patterson joins earlier signees Andrew Ishii (Salem, Ore./Chemeketa CC) and Josh Vaughan (Boise, Idaho/College of the Siskiyous) in the Bruins' 2019 recruiting class.

Bellevue concluded the 2019 season with a 48-16 overall record and 23-1 mark in NSAA play. The Bruins closed the year by winning 41 of their final 44 games en route to earning the program's 14th Avista NAIA World Series Appearance. BU claimed both the NSAA Regular-Season and Tournament titles before going on to win the NAIA Opening Round – Shreveport Bracket.
